Current adoptable bunnies
Email us or call the HopLine (413/525-9222) if you’d like to meet any of our foster bunnies! Here are the bunnies we are currently lovingly caring for until they find their forever homes.
The most rewarding results of HRC efforts relate to the hundreds of abandoned (and often neglected) rabbits that have been rescued and placed in permanent, loving homes since HRC’s inception. Adoptable rabbits are taken from shelters/animal care and adoption centers, examined by one of the rabbit-savvy vets who work regularly with HRC, spayed/neutered if necessary, placed in a loving foster home where they are socialized, litter-trained, and prepared for a loving, permanent, indoor adoptive home. By adopting a rescued rabbit, individuals are giving a bunny a new “leap on life.”
Dolce![]() Dolce plays with her box ![]() Dolce's a lovely girl Dolce is a small female gray and white Dutch bunny. She is as sweet as she is cute! She came to her current foster home and made herself right at home — within a day she was settled and comfortable. She comes running over to see anyone who approachs her pen. And, of course, she loves to be petted. She is full of energy and has just a little bit of attitude. All the more reason you will love her! |
FriskyFrisky is a medium-sized female English Spot about 5 years old (rabbits’ average life span is 10+ years). She is an active girl who needs plenty of room to run and things to hop up on. She is very interactive with her foster family, she enjoys being with them and following them around the house. Frisky, like most rabbits, is not a cuddle bun, but she is fun and very social. Come and meet Frisky — she just might be the perfect companion for your household. |
Hopper![]() Hopper's an inquisitive and soft girl Hopper is a 2 year old female Rex rabbit. She has come to HRC from the NY House Rabbit Society where her and her brother were abandoned. Hopper is a lively girl. She enjoys being petted, which is wonderful once you feel how velvety soft she is! She has good litterbox habits. We’ll update when we know more about Hopper. |
Karen and Nina![]() Karen and Nina are great buddies! ![]() Nina Karen is white and black and one year old. Nina is brown and white and about 6 months old. They are an adorable pair of female English Spot rabbits who are currently being socialized in their foster home. We’ll have more about their personalities when they get more comfortable. Stay tuned! ![]() Karen munching on some lettuce |
KendraKendra is a big, beautiful, one-and-a-half-year-old rabbit. She is full of energy and it’s fun to watch her hop and play while she is out of her pen. She definitely prefers to be out and about! Kendra also loves to perch on top of her cardboard box to get a birds’-eye view of things. She is a very affectionate rabbit and loves to be petted — she’ll even lay right next to you while you pet her. She would make a great family rabbit. |
Mikey![]() Mikey Mikey is a 5-month-old male white Flemish Giant mix Now those are some big ears! We are expecting him to grow into a big rabbit. He has a great personality, loves to hang out in his litterbox eating hay. He seemed comfortable even after the ride from NYC Animal Care & Control to an HRC foster home in CT. And he’s settled into his foster home with ease. He is friendly and likes to be petted. He will let you pick him up, but we are not yet sure how much of that he will allow. We’ll be sure to have more info soon! |
Mr. LincolnMr. Lincoln is an 11-month-old lop mix. His ears are the cutest! He is the color of a coffee bean — sometimes he looks black, sometimes he looks brown. He is a sweet social boy, but he is still shy about being petted, which is an issue his foster mom is working on with him. It won’t take him long to learn that hands can be warm and friendly. Come and meet the cutest little coffee bean! |
Shadow![]() Shadow in the shadows Shadow is a sweet, 1-year-old female rabbit with excellent litter habits. She loves her veggies and treats. She was shy at first, but now that she’s getting more comfortable she can be picked up and is agreeable to being held. She has lots of energy, and enjoys running back and forth between her cage and the extra litter box with some binkies in between. Come meet this fun girl! |
Thistle and IrisCheck out this loving pair! We have been in foster care for awhile. Please come meet us! Thistle is perhaps the cutest bunny in the world. His coat takes about 10 minuets of careful grooming a week, which he tolerates with weary resignation! The result is a real life dust bunny, totally adorable. Iris leaves the cuteness to her partner. She is a small, sleek, athletic powerhouse. A solid, well-muscled silver gray bunny, Iris enjoys having her ears stroked and will come running for a treat. They tolerate living with noisy dogs and cats, but Thistle lets them know if they invade his space! They would thrive in a moderately quiet household.
