We all know the best way to stop a chewer from chewing off your baseboards/table legs/chair legs, etc. is to give him or her lots of toys… What toys do you use for distraction?

I blog at BunnyBlab and serve as the webmaster for Hopline.org. I’m a simple, complicated 32-year-old woman. I live near Boston with my wonderful, brilliant husband, Paul, SweetPea the bunny and Bandit the kitty. I welcome feedback on the site (see the forum topic “Hopline questions and issues”) and would love for you to check out my blog.

I have a 3 month old female dwarf that chews all the baseboards..I have the small plastic balls , empty boxes & rolls for her. What do they like for toys?

Along with toys the you can coat your baseboards with Ivory soap. Bunnies do not like the taste and will avoid it. DO NOT however use pepper spray or bitter apples–bunnies like both flavors. It’s like putting salad dressing on your wood work.

Good toys
Hay bombs–homemade toys using toilet paper rolls and hay. It’s also fun to put a raisin or two in the center and let them go at it.

Boxes are great–start a little hole and watch it get bigger ever day.
